Final Race of the Chase

Tonight is the night. The Nascar Sprint Cup Champion will be crowned tonight at Homestead Speedway in Beautiful Miami, Florida. Entering the race, Wheelracer has the points lead with Smokinstewart close by at -47 points. Much like the real life Nascar chase, this is a two person race but a huge field showed up nonetheless. The race began with 25 cars and finished with 18 still running. This was one of the best races of the year with close racing and frequent position changes from front to back. There was no major accident in the race as the skill of BPR’s highly touted drivers was evident. This race came down to a green-white-checkered with Slopland leading the field followed by Romy, Tapper, Wheel, Freddy and Smokin. The finish was shortened by a caution on the last 3 laps and Slopland took the win followed by Tapper, Wheel, Romy, Freddy and Smokin. Sloplands victory celebration was taken over by that of Wheelracer as he took the Nascar Sprint Cup Points Championship for 2008. This was a brilliant season with a ton of great drivers chasing. BPR has some of the best racers on the internet and this season was simply proof of this. BPR and its 50+ drivers cannot wait for next year as a talented field of experienced, competitive drivers is expected to be on hand every week.

Race 9 of the Chase

This week at Phoenix revealed hard times for some and great racing for others. In a great race with minimal cautions, Wheelracer was victorious by a slim margin. Wheelracer was able to slip through a few wrecks and use a great pit strategy to find himself at the front at the right time. Turn 3 saw some of the best action of the race on the last lap when Wheelracer, DavidE, Smokinstewart and DJ Anderson going 3 and 4 wide. But, this is Phoenix and we all know that it is not that wide, so as a result, DavidE found himself aiming the wrong way coming to the frontstretch. Wheel edged out Smoke and DJ in a very close finis

Race 8 of Chase

This week, the boys of BPR were at the treacherous pavement of Texas Motor Speedway. This race was fast all the way through and had only a handful of cautions. This field of about 25 cars was evenly matched and it was soon obvious that anyone could win. The points leader Wheelracer had a tough race and finished back in the pack, but is set up nicely for the final two races with a 50 point lead. The final lap would come down to Slopland and Smokinstewart racing to the line. Off of turn three Smoke made his move low but was derailed as Slop attempted to take the line away. These cars came together and both cars crossed the finish line out of control, with Slopland crossing the line first. This was a great race to drive or to watch. We now head into Phoenix with the points close. Wheelracer is leading, followed by Smoke, Slop, Romy, Rowdy, Teaspoon and Sox. This should be a fun finish to a great season.

Rowdy Wins First Race in the Chase !!!

Rowdy Wins First Race of the Chase Sunday night’s COT race at New Hampshire can only be described as brutal. It was a tough track where the pavement was hot and slick and the victims mounted at a steady pace from beginning until end. The racing was close, hard, and highly contested. But at the end of the evening, BPR’s Rowdy found himself once again in the winner’s circle. But it wasn’t easy. There were several lead changes during the evening, with Sox, Renegade, Slopland, Wheelracer, and Rowdy all having a turn at the point. Rowdy’s evening included several scrapes with the wall and with a number of other racers, especially with Sox on a number of occasions. It was simply good, hard racing on a track that will bite you in the blink of an eye. Many cars started only to either find an end-of-the-road wreck taking the out and even one disqualification for too many spins. New Hampshire took many victims, some who began the night at the top of the pre-chase standings, failing to survive the 150 lap endurance challenge. At times, Rowdy was shuffled as far back as 8th place in the field, and actually restarted the race in 5th place after a caution with less than 10 laps to go. Even with serious competition and hard driving by some talented drivers, Rowdy rolled across the finish line less than a second ahead of Sox and SmokinStewart in a close 3rd. Slopland took 4th with Wheelracer rounding out the top 5. It was indeed a difficult but exciting night of COT racing at BPR to kick off the 1st event of the 10 race chase for the full season championship.
